Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement health education programs for diverse populations, focusing on prevention, health promotion, and disease management.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to design and deliver effective health education interventions.
  • Conduct needs assessments, analyze data, and evaluate program effectiveness to inform future initiatives.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to healthcare professionals, community leaders, and other stakeholders on health education best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and best practices in health education, applying this knowledge to inform program development and implementation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health science, health service, or behavioral science, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • One year of experience as a Health Education Assistant I in the Kern County classification system, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including communities of color, low-income populations, and individuals with limited English proficiency.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new software and technologies.
