Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager in Cartersville, GA to oversee the quality standards of our products and processes. This individual will be responsible for maintaining inspection standards, keeping records of performed inspections, resolving non-conformances, and providing regular reports on quality control standards. The Quality Control Manager will also work with Continuous Improvement projects under guidance from the Senior Director of Quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the inspection of products at key inbound/outbound points in the distribution center
  • Maintain accurate records of all reports identifying issues
  • Ensure high integrity records management practices
  • Work with Distribution managers to optimize DC workflow
  • Attend daily Managers meeting and update team on Quality
  • Optimize Quality team performance through cross-training and regular feedback
  • Perform worker's yearly performance evaluation
  • Provide recommendations for changes in inspection methods and frequency intervals
  • Respond promptly to special requests for reprocessing, repackaging, etc.
  • Work with Purchasing and Management to resolve any nonconformances found and ensure issues are resolved with the Weavers promptly
  • Work with Customer Returns department to analyze data and improve Quality
  • Use inspection Data to evaluate and make decisions to improve Quality
  • Ensure correct packaging of all products according to customer's requirements
  • Vendor Requirements Doc. and/or production standards of the company
  • Inspect the quality of the product before being packaged
  • Follow all security policies and procedures
  • Manage the decision-making regarding the disposition of non-conforming products
  • Work with the management team to create and maintain SOPs for all departments
  • Assist with the training and onboarding of new associates
  • Address any unsafe conditions immediately
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in logistics, supply chain management, business, or engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in Quality Control
  • ASQ Quality Manager to Quality Engineer certification Preferred
  • Other Certifications such as Lean, six Sigma Green belt preferred
  • Lean methodology/tools such as Poka-Yoke, Value Strem mapping, Kaizen is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively and independently
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to train and give detailed direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of proper inspecting procedures
  • Takes initiative and works well independently
  • The capability of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously under tight time constraints
  • Able to work effectively with peers and corporate leadership
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Working Conditions

  • While this is a management position with significant time spent in the office, managers are expected to spend time daily on the floor, inspecting their departments, and communicating directly with employees in the workspace
  • Ability to stoop, stand, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for up to 8 hours or more per day is required
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others
  • This is a distribution position. The facility is not climate controlled and subject to temperature changes in relation to the seasons
  • Dust and fibers are part of a warehouse environment. Loloi strives to maintain a clean, clear, and safe work environment and expects all employees to do their part in that effort
  • Loloi's rugs are produced using a variety of natural fibers, including wool, cotton, and jute. The employee will come into contact with these through the normal course of performing everyday job duties
  • Powered equipment is used throughout the distribution facility. Operation of this equipment may or may not be part of the job requirements, but employees must be aware of them in immediate and surrounding work areas
  • Travel up to 20% both domestic and international if required
