Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Birdwatch Full time

About Birdwatch: Birdwatch is a pioneering home management and maintenance organization dedicated to simplifying the responsibilities of homeownership.

Position Overview: We are currently in search of a proficient full-time Lead Services Carpenter/Technician to enhance our team.

Our unique service model alleviates the burdens of home maintenance by coordinating preventive upkeep, managing repairs, and supporting homeowners in enhancing their living spaces. Birdwatch builds upon the established reputation of Flock DC, a respected property management firm with over 13 years of experience. Our commitment lies in providing exceptional care to our clients, their properties, our community, and, most importantly, our valued team members.

Birdwatch is perfect for individuals seeking a collaborative environment, a stable work schedule, and equitable, consistent compensation. We recognize the challenges faced by technicians and contractors regarding unpredictable hours and a lack of appreciation for their expertise. Our goal is to transform this narrative by offering reliable, well-compensated positions where employees feel valued and enjoy collaborating with their colleagues.

Compensation: $28 - $33 per hour, with various signing incentives available (cash, vehicle access, or other options).

Additional opportunities for annual profit sharing and performance-based incentives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in handyman services, carpentry, or residential remodeling, including at least 2 years of direct interaction with homeowners.
  • Advanced skills in finished carpentry.
  • Strong proficiency in various general trades, including light plumbing, electrical work, and painting/patching.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, project, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Capacity to exceed client expectations and perform tasks efficiently.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check.
  • Must have a reliable work vehicle.
  • Possession of a standard set of hand and power tools.
  • Fluent communication skills in English with homeowners.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone application for job management and scope of work.

Benefits:

  • Paid time off, including sick leave and vacation.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, life, and short/long-term disability insurance.
