Aviation Manufacturing Assembler

Summit Aviation, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Manufacturing Assembler to join our team. As an Aviation Manufacturing Assembler, you will be responsible for the assembly of components according to drawings and specifications in a timely manner to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Fabricate, assemble, manufacture, and install equipment used in research and development of various aircraft.
- Work with technical manuals, technical orders, manufacturing technical data, modification work orders, and blueprints.
- Makes modifications to existing airframe components to accommodate installations.
- Coordinates with project engineer personnel throughout the project and provides technical assistance to project engineers, contractors, and factory representatives.
- Performs sheet metal manufacturing, modifications, and repairs to various aircraft components.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of sheet metal materials and repair techniques.
- Uses tools and equipment associated with a sheet metal shop, such as torque wrenches, M&M equipment, protractors, calipers, pitch gauges, crimping tools/machines, forming machines, lathes, milling machines, saws, and drilling presses.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and rudimentary drawings.
- Perform the full range of manufacturing responsibilities, maintenance, repair, modifications, inspections, and servicing of aircraft parts and components in accordance with approved methods, techniques, and practices.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-5 years of prior Aviation Manufacturing/Assembly experience required.
- Experience in machine, manufacture, assembly of aircraft parts and components, and sheet metal shop practices.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is very loud but falls within acceptable limits of OSHA guidelines.
