Job Summary

EEI Manufacturing Services is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop, evaluate, and maintain the integrity of various manufacturing processes related to SMT & Through-Hole Technology PCB's and possibly Cables & Electro-Mechanical assembly production.

The ideal candidate will drive the effort for implementation of continuous improvement projects that will affect manufacturability, process efficiency, flow, and quality. Responsibilities include evaluating manufacturability, recommending design modifications to improve producibility, and incorporating changes in customer requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Process related evaluation, troubleshooting, and correction of non-conformities to the component level
  • Assisting with new product introduction and prototype production
  • Implementing engineering changes from customers to maximize production efficiency and quality output
  • Pre-production meetings to ensure process operations are set up and performed properly
  • Continually evaluating production processes and implementing improvements
  • Collecting and analyzing data and providing reports pertaining to job efficiency and cost

This hands-on role involves up to 85% of time spent on the production floor.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience with surface mount and/or through-hole technology CCA manufacturing
  • Thorough knowledge of related soldering and assembly processes, equipment, materials
  • Ability to identify key process variables and implement statistical process control plans
  • Knowledge of IPC and J-STD standards
  • Strong level user of MS Office products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS (in a related engineering discipline)
  • Understanding of ERP system functionality
  • Process development for cable assembly and box builds in a manufacturing environment
  • Process improvement experience for efficiency utilizing lean & six sigma improvement methodologies
  • Experienced with various manufacturing software
