Job Title: HFC Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled HFC Engineer to join our Telecommunications team at Olsson. As an HFC Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and optimizing Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) networks to deliver high-speed broadband services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and optimize HFC networks to meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Analyze and interpret large datasets to determine serving boundaries, feeder routes, distribution routes, and drops to premises.
  • Review field staking sheets, as-Builts, and field-collected data to determine optimal running lines and construction methods.
  • Analyze aerial imagery and general maps to identify existing utilities or potential obstructions.
  • Produce and review high-quality constructible plan sets using GIS-based software.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well on a team.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering or design, or equivalent work experience.
  • General knowledge of OSP construction methods and best practices.
  • 3-6 years of Coax/HFC design experience.
  • General knowledge of HFC, DOCSIS, and FTTx networks.
