Position Overview

The Lead Physician is tasked with overseeing the personnel and operational aspects of a healthcare facility within Denver Health. Family Medicine practitioners deliver specialized medical services to patients of all ages and genders. They assess, treat, and assist in the prevention of common health issues and injuries that affect the general populace. Referrals to specialists may be made when further evaluation or treatment is necessary.

Family Medicine practitioners operate in various clinics and settings throughout Denver Health.

Key Responsibilities : Admit, assess, diagnose, treat, and provide consultations for patients of all ages with both acute and chronic conditions, including complex cases, while performing procedures acquired during training. (20%) Deliver preventative and therapeutic care for patients across all age groups. This encompasses admitting patients, providing preventative care, managing acute conditions, overseeing prenatal care, treating injuries, managing chronic diseases, and executing procedures learned in training. (20%) Supervise resident staff in delivering care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient environments. (20%) Execute privileged procedures as specified in the Denver Health and Hospital Authority Department of Family Medicine Clinical Privileges documentation. (20%) Oversee the management of personnel and the operational functions of a clinic at Denver Health. (20%)

Educational Requirements :

Doctorate Degree Required

Professional Experience :

1-3 years of experience in an outpatient clinic setting with proven leadership capabilities and a record of spearheading initiatives at the clinic or division level, or supervising advanced practice providers. Required Eligible for appointment or promotion to Assistant Professor within their department. Required

Required Licenses :

ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association Required BLS - Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program - AHA - American Heart Association Required PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association Required

Skills and Competencies :

Comprehensive knowledge and skill in all privileged procedures as outlined in the Denver Health and Hospital Authority Department of Family Medicine Clinical Privileges documentation. Interest and expertise in multi-disciplinary outpatient care, with the ability to collaborate in teams and inspire physicians and other providers to enhance quality, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Effective communication skills with a diverse range of staff and administration. Strong critical thinking, analytical, and teaching/coaching abilities. Proficient in managing and directing medical staff while ensuring high-quality medical care. Capable of analyzing, interpreting, and acting on relevant clinical and financial data related to the practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong listening and interpersonal abilities. Ability to engage effectively with individuals from varied educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships. Adaptable to change and open to implementing new processes. Demonstrated history of positive collaborative relationships with colleagues, support staff, providers, administrators, and patients. Proficient computer skills are essential.
