Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team at Paper Converting Machine Company, a leading manufacturer of high-performance converting machinery. As an Assembler, you will play a critical role in the assembly and construction of mechanical and electrical components for our industrial machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and analyze assembly and electrical prints/bills of material and order acknowledgement documentation to plan machine building operations.
  • Fabricate and assemble components according to specifications using proper tools and verifying conformance of parts.
  • Assemble, set-up and may operate machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities and conformance.
  • May form and fasten pneumatic and hydraulic lines, fixtures, and attachments required to service machine with air and oil.
  • May install wiring, electrical components and panel building to specifications.
  • May debug assemblies and machines by identifying and correcting problems affecting proper operation.
  • Identify and communicate with project team regarding build issues and documentation.

Requirements:

  • A technical degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year experience related to mechanical, HPL, and/or electrical assembly of industrial machinery.
  • Ability to assemble both mechanical and electrical components according to prints and sketches.
  • Possess the written, verbal, and interaction skills necessary to work both independently and cooperatively.
  • Possess basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
  • Possess appropriate hand tools.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. regularly or occasionally.
  • Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously.
  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require personal protective equipment.
  • Grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
