Position Overview:
As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and organized handling of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods using powered industrial trucks. Your role is crucial in maintaining the quality of perishable items and overseeing the inventory of all warehouse products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive materials from vendors and/or warehouses, verifying lot numbers and quantities.
  • Complete documentation to confirm accurate quantities or weights for each load.
  • Transport pallets of ingredients and materials to production lines and storage areas.
  • Prepare orders for shipment from the receiving dock.
  • Consolidate materials, ingredients, or products into specified order lots.
  • Operate various equipment including forklifts, high lifts, order pickers, and pallet jacks as required.
  • Conduct safety checks on equipment prior to use, ensuring all safety devices are functional.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse, including routine cleaning duties.
  • Rotate and clean spice racks and the ingredients cooler as necessary.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
  • Ensure the receipt of raw materials and packaging supplies adheres to company protocols.
  • Restock production areas with necessary supplies as needed.
  • Unload incoming materials and inspect containers for any damage.
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain power lifting equipment.
  • Return production materials to their designated storage locations after use.
  • Wrap and prepare pallets of finished products for shipping.
  • Uphold company standards for cleanliness, food safety, and productivity in the production area.
  • Rotate raw and packaging materials upon receipt and when returning to storage.
  • Ensure all raw material containers are properly labeled.
  • Identify products for shipment, verify labels and codes, and load appropriate quantities onto trucks.
  • Record inventory information corresponding to received and shipped products.
  • Comply with quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA, and HACCP support programs, ensuring adherence to all relevant standards.
  • Transport waste to designated collection areas.
  • Load empty drums as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience operating forklifts in an industrial manufacturing setting is preferred, with food manufacturing experience being a plus. A high school diploma is preferred.

Working Environment:
The production area is typically loud, and associates are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Exposure to dust, chemicals, and allergens may occur. The role involves sitting, standing, bending, and lifting items exceeding 50 lbs.
