Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled EHR Applications Analyst to join our team at the University of Rochester. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for recommending, planning, evaluating, and translating clinical practice, operations, policy, and procedures into electronic content and workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform simple analysis and facilitate development of integrated workflows.
  • Complete the functional design and build of the eRecord system with guidance from a preceptor or manager.
  • Collaborate with others to seek resolution of system issues and communicate risk implications to the team lead/project manager.
  • Review requested enhancements and prioritize and assist with implementing requested changes to the system with guidance from a preceptor or manager.
  • Work with the project team, subject matter experts, training, and technical teams to define processes that cross applications and functional areas.
  • Participate in the upgrade process, including NOVA review, and act as a representative for the team as needed.
  • Build reports and workflows and test the work of self and others as needed.
  • Maintain standards for system build, including following naming and numbering conventions, security classifications, database/spreadsheets for system build, and change control.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Build relationships and effectively communicate with the project team, key stakeholders, and physician practices as required.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in a related discipline, such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science, or Engineering, required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Clinical, technical, or administrative experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and develop critical thinking skills required.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), teamwork, and follow-up skills required.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft software, specifically Office and SharePoint, required.
  • Familiarity with Meaningful Use (ARRA) as well as HIPAA, JCAHO, and other regulations that impact clinical practice preferred.
  • Epic certification in related application(s) may be required within 12 months upon hire.
