Job Overview

This is a full-time position working standard business hours with occasional flexibility to work diverse schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. On occasion, this position may require extensive travel.

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Origination Manager to support the overall commercialization of our transformative energy transition technology. The successful candidate will drive Inbound and Outbound lead generation, perform market and project analysis, and serve as the point of contact for customers during the development stages.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Builds, executes, and delivers market development KPIs, and tracks and reports on such KPIs.
  2. Collaborates and manages relationships between Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Finance groups.
  3. Builds effective relationships and networks that produce quality ION customer interest and qualified leads.
  4. Effectively builds impactful internal presentations and presentations to potential customers.
  5. Assists with developing proposals for prospective customers.
  6. Serves as a point of contact for business-oriented client persona and aligns cross-functionally with ION Project Management team.
  7. Works within ION to identify high-value arenas for the Origination team.
  8. Updates the CRM, including accurately forecasting customers' next steps.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics or related field or equivalent education and 3+ years demonstrated combustion or carbon capture experience.
  • Aptitude to identify, initiate, or complete Master's degree in business preferred.
  • 5+ years of business development experience with 3+ years representing technical, extended sales cycle, decarbonized market management.
  • 7+ years of relevant market development experience selling into energy production or manufacturing verticals preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional relationship building, risk assessment, and critical thinking skills.
  • Learning agility, including the ability to learn and then utilize technical knowledge within the sales process.
  • Excellent ability to quickly assess problems and formulate strategies to overcome issues.
  • Works with a sense of urgency and demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and translate complex technical information into meaningful information for non-technical individuals.
  • Skilled at maintaining positive relationships with clients, including actively listening to their needs, and providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Professionally represents the company and builds trust with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates proactive behavior; stays abreast of advancements in technologies, engineering standards, regulations, etc.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools.
  • Solid understanding of methods and techniques used in CO2 capture from flue gas preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience creating compelling and well-structured proposals preferred.
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 30% for customer meetings, conferences, and various market development activities as needed.
Location

This position is based in Houston, TX, with the employee required to be primarily in the office with some remote work allowable with prior approval.

About Salary

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
