Bausch + Lomb, a leading global eye health company, is seeking a skilled Journeyman Instrument Technician to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality surgical instruments that meet the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities:- Continual learning of new skills, including filing, bending, brazing, and other manufacturing techniques.
- Perform precision metal working, including belting, grinding, polishing, and drilling.
- Use measurement instruments, including micrometers and calipers.
- Read blueprints and/or technical drawings.
- Finish manufactured hand-held instruments to meet or exceed quality standards for form, fit, function, and finish.
- Collaborate with Quality, Machining, Planning, Engineering, and Packaging Departments.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of apprentice program or equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of instrument manufacturing experience (preferred experience with manufacturing of surgical instruments).
- Hand metal working experience.
- Ability to visualize shapes.
- Assessment will be required.
- Ability to follow verbal and written manufacturing procedures.
- Previous experience preferred from other shops that provide surgical instruments.
- Excellent manual dexterity.
