Job Summary

Job Duties
  • You will plan, develop, program, design, and manage new construction, maintenance and repair related engineering projects.
  • You will serve as project manager to oversee, coordinate, and manage the project development program responsible for the design of all maintenance, repair and new construction projects accomplished through contracted service providers.
  • You will determine practicability of maintenance and repair of existing facilities and provide alternative project sites and solutions as appropriate.
  • You will review and maintain all contract studies/reports, project designs and programs prepared by various agencies and private contractors.
  • You will apply a comprehensive knowledge and application of multi-engineering disciplines and construction techniques to project development.

  • The incumbent will be required to become familiar with specific and unique client technical mission requirements.
Qualifications

  • Examples of qualifying specialized experience include technical work in: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems.
  • Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents. Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as:
  • Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes.
  • Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and preparing design project packages including maintenance, repair and construction of various facilities; AND work including technical data and cost estimates.
