Nursing Support Specialist

About the Job:
The Certified Nursing Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves performing clinical support functions and patient care techniques to prepare patients for treatment and operating procedures. As a Nursing Support Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting patients with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, and eating, as well as reporting any changes or problems in patient condition to professional nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Medical Procedures: Prepare and assist patients with medical procedures as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Provide Patient Support: Assist patients with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, and eating, and provide emotional support and comfort.
- Collect and Record Vital Signs: Obtain and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Perform Accu-Checks and Suctioning: Perform accu-checks and oral and nasal suctioning as needed.
- Prepare Supplies and Environment: Prepare supplies and equipment for patient care, and ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in a medical, hospital or health care setting is preferred.
- Certification: Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in New York State is required.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalency is required.
