We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our Adult Protection team. As a Social Worker - Adult Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and addressing the needs of vulnerable adults who have been identified as potentially needing protective services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of vulnerable adults to determine the presence of immediate danger and the nature and severity of alleged maltreatment.
- Develop and implement effective case plans to ensure the health and safety of vulnerable adults.
- Collaborate with community resources, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to provide protective services and support.
- Document all interactions and case activities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in regular meetings and trainings to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
- One year of full-time professional experience in a human service agency or two years of full-time para-professional experience.
- A valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field, as well as experience in home or community-based settings, would be an asset.
Work Environment
This role will involve working in a Dakota County office building and visiting clients' homes. Travel is required, and you will need to be able to lift up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
Selection Process
The examination/selection process for this classification will consist of a rating of your training and experience from the application materials submitted. The top scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.
