Champions for Children, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a Family Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to families to optimize their home environment for the physical, emotional, and social well-being of their children.

Job Summary:

The Family Support Specialist will work with assigned families to develop, monitor, and implement a Family Support Plan (FSP) that addresses their unique needs and goals. This will involve conducting regular home visits, providing parent education and support, and linking families to community resources and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a trusting relationship with assigned families through regular home visits and communication.
  • Develop and implement a Family Support Plan (FSP) that addresses the unique needs and goals of each family.
  • Provide parent education and support to help families optimize their home environment and promote healthy child development.
  • Link families to community resources and services, such as medical providers, social services, and parenting classes.
  • Document all activities and interactions with families in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Meet with supervisor weekly for review of case management and other relevant activities.
  • Attend training conferences, workshops, and staff meetings as required.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years' experience working with children and families preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English and Spanish required.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate participant schedules.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check, sexual predator screening, and drug screening.
