Role Summary and Qualifications

The Occupational Therapist delivers high-quality, patient-focused care by overseeing the entire process of occupational therapy for a designated group of patients, collaborating closely with physicians and the care team. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments and contributing to the development and execution of personalized care plans aimed at achieving goals and enhancing patient engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and implement treatment interventions in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Assess and evaluate the therapeutic and functional status of patients, contributing to the overall care plan.
  • Provide skilled interaction and therapeutic care, utilizing techniques to effect positive changes in patient condition.
  • Monitor and report on patient responses to treatment and any changes in their condition.
  • Communicate necessary payer requirements to the treatment team, patients, and families promptly.
  • Manage caseload priorities, staffing needs, and coordinate patient assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Occupational Therapist licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • Prior experience in a NICU setting is required.
