Job SummaryWe are seeking a Research Director to join our North American Natural Gas team. The successful candidate will lead the analytical offering, identify opportunities for development, and implement strategies to enhance market data and reports.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the analytical offering, including identifying, supporting, and implementing opportunities for development of US natural gas fundamental and pricing analysis and forecasting.
- Contribute to and be the market lead analyst for regular market analysis commentary, providing customers with gas fundamentals through regular reports and presentations.
- Identify new content needs and build new data and analysis offerings.
- Provide data insight through visual analytic dashboards.
- Shape and implement strategies to enhance market data and reports.
- Analyse vessel movements and trends, explain them to a wide range of customers globally.
- Organise US gas team collaboration and align content, model, and report methodology with global teams.
- Connect with customers on data or market explanation queries.
- Contribute to business growth through partnering with LSEG Sales organisation.
- Improve content and design of our Workspace-based analytical tools, charts, and tables.
- Collaborate across wider commodities Research team members for process and policy alignment, methods of work, and standard methodologies.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in the energy sector, with a focus on the North American gas market analysis.
- Deep understanding of fundamental market drivers and price formation principles.
- Ability to provide strategic insights and thought leadership.
- Excellent writing skills with a consistent track record of producing detailed and insightful market reports.
- Good project management skills with the ability to drive projects in a global and multicultural environment.
- Superlative communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in use of analytical software (Excel) and experience with programming (e.g., Python, VBA, or equivalent) and Power BI is an additional strength.
- Qualification: Higher education in economics, business, mathematics, or energy-related degree.
- US Gas market experience.
