Job Summary:

The Specimen Accessioning Technician will be responsible for receiving, unpacking, and registering specimens into our laboratory information system. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receipt and registration of specimens into the laboratory information system
  • Data entry of specimen information
  • Specimen logistics, including archiving and destruction of specimens
  • Routine laboratory duties, including handling of biohazardous materials and hazardous chemicals
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Timeliness and reliability
  • Focus and commitment to performing work to a high standard with daily goals
  • Computer familiarity
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Science courses or experience in a science-related field
  • Candidate working towards a college degree or recent college graduate, especially in a science-related field
Work Environment:
