Job Title: Senior Electrical Component Quality Engineer for Wire Wound Parts

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Component Quality Engineer to join our team at Generac Power Systems. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality wire wound components for our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Qualify and select suppliers for electronic components, with a focus on wire wound magnetic parts.
  • Manage the technical aspects of individual component commodities, including process audits and problem resolution.
  • Develop and own quality performance metrics for component commodities.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure high-quality components are selected and used in our products.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on materials and process choices.
  • Administer and support Process Validation (PV) and Process Capability (PC) activities with suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers based on trend management and performance metrics.
  • Lead and drive all 8D SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing high-reliability electronic or electromechanical products, with a focus on quality management.
  • Strong experience with solder chemistries/processing, electronics cleaning, and cleanliness validation processes.
  • Technical fluency in wire wound components and other commodities listed above.
  • Solid quantitative skill set and ability to analyze and communicate with well-supported data.
  • Proficient with Office Software and Quality and Statistical tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma certification.
  • IEEE certification and ANSYS Thermal Management Tools knowledge and certification.
  • Proven budgetary/cost control experience and awareness.
  • Power electronics, consumer electronics, or commercial electronics background.
  • Experience working with international companies and in a matrix organization.
