Role Summary:
The Flexo Press Operator plays a crucial role in setting up and managing the printing press to manufacture labels and related products efficiently.
Shifts Available: 2nd or 3rd shifts, Monday - Friday, with 8-hour shifts (Overtime as required)
1st Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm
2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm
3rd Shift: 10:00pm-6:30am
This role includes onsite training, providing an opportunity to acquire valuable skills in the printing industry, with significant potential for career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interprets job orders and prepares dies for the press, ensuring proper installation of print cylinders.
- Prepares ink pans and systems with the specified inks.
- Operates the press, adjusting speed and alignment as necessary.
- Engages print cylinders and makes necessary adjustments to ensure quality output.
- Conducts inspections of printed samples for quality assurance, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness of equipment and workspace, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
- Performs routine maintenance on printing equipment.
- Mixes inks to achieve desired colors and viscosity.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 years of relevant experience or training.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year of experience with flexographic printing presses.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to interpret measurement tools.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close vision and color differentiation.
