About the Position

We are seeking a talented Librarian to join our team at the Greene County Public Library. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the library's mission by providing excellent customer service, developing engaging programs and services, and maintaining the library's collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert reference assistance, answering patron questions and addressing their needs in a timely and professional manner;
  • Design and deliver innovative programs and services for adults and families, promoting community engagement and education;
  • Conduct thorough collection analysis and evaluation, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement;
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electronic resources and equipment, ensuring seamless access to library services;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or related field for Adult Services Librarian II, or a Bachelor's degree for Adult Services Librarian I;
  • 1-3 years of experience in a library setting, preferably in adult services;
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations;
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in automated systems and software applications.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated hourly salary range for this position is $18.09-$23.66, depending on experience and qualifications. This part-time position also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including vacation time, sick leave, personal leave, holidays, parental leave, merit time off, bereavement time, employee assistance program, flexible spending account, and tuition reimbursement program.
