Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in the design and upkeep of electrical systems and programming essential for the functionality of manufacturing equipment and machinery. Responsibilities include documenting, developing, implementing, and sustaining machinery for product production, validation, and inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve intricate electrical systems issues for machinery under the guidance of senior automation engineers or managers to facilitate manufacturing processes.
  • Create programs for controlling PLCs, HMIs, actuators, servos, motion controllers, and vision systems.
  • Maintain documentation of programs and electrical systems in compliance with safety standards and quality protocols.
  • Identify and procure electrical components necessary for equipment operation.
  • Conduct debugging, troubleshooting, and repairs of machinery to support production, quality assurance, and design engineering teams.
  • Assemble, wire, program, install, and troubleshoot equipment sourced or developed internally.
  • Prepare operational manuals for both internally developed and externally purchased equipment.
  • Offer guidance and supervision to a team of controls technicians.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and processes.
  • Proficient in developing machine programs and documentation using programming languages for machines, including PLCs, robots, actuators, and vision systems.
  • Capability to formulate electrical specifications for machines and equipment, including schematics and wiring guidelines.
  • Experience in assembling and wiring machines to specifications while managing resources for similar tasks.
  • Ability to organize documentation and workflows for clarity and usability in troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving electrical and minor mechanical issues, requiring a fundamental understanding of machine mechanics.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in documenting programs and schematics using software such as CAD or Visio.
  • Ability to structure programming and machine functions into flow charts.
  • Experience in integrating multiple equipment pieces or stations into cohesive systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Involves standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
  • Requires coordination of eyes, hands, and feet.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Education & Experience:

Travel:

  • Occasional travel may be required, up to 5%.
