Position Overview:

Job Title: Bakery Assistant Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly
Reports To: Bakery Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Assist the Bakery Department Manager in supervising operations and leading the baking team, stepping in during the manager's absence.
  • Training: Onboard new bakery staff, emphasizing our pastry selections and service standards. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Operational Standards: Ensure department compliance with cleanliness, quality, and safety protocols while managing inventory and pricing.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service by assisting customers, processing special orders, and addressing inquiries with professionalism.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a positive work environment by supporting team members and assisting with daily operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain accurate food safety logs and adhere to company policies, addressing any violations promptly.
  • Administrative Tasks: Oversee timekeeping accuracy and communicate with HR regarding scheduling.
  • Commitment: Ensure regular attendance and timely communication regarding absences.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven capability to motivate and manage a team with strong communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with technology and the food service industry, particularly in bakery operations.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to interact effectively with customers and staff.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety standards and the ability to identify potential hazards.
  • Certification: Must possess a valid Food Manager License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the store, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Capability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time hourly position requiring flexibility for mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
