Position Overview:

The Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineer plays a critical role in enhancing the security framework across Torc's product offerings. This position involves close collaboration with the Safety and Regulatory team to develop cybersecurity components integral to the Torc Safety Case, as well as spearheading the implementation of our cybersecurity management system. A profound knowledge of both software and hardware security principles is essential, along with a proactive stance on threat modeling and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments to embed robust security measures from the initial design phase through to deployment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and uphold a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture for our product ecosystem, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational goals.
  • Document, manage, and lead the execution of essential activities within the cybersecurity management system.
  • Conduct thorough threat analyses and risk assessments for both existing and new products, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Work alongside product development teams to integrate security into the design and development lifecycle of products.
  • Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, continuously refining our security strategies and solutions.
  • Oversee the implementation of security controls, including encryption, access management, network security, and secure coding practices.
  • Provide expert guidance to cybersecurity team members, fostering a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.
  • Engage with external security vendors and partners, managing relationships and ensuring effective integration of third-party security solutions.
  • Prepare and present reports on security architecture, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with pertinent industry, regulatory, and organizational cybersecurity standards and policies.
  • Participate in and support incident response and forensic activities in the event of a security breach.
  • Represent Torc at external standards and industry bodies, articulating our product cybersecurity approach.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years focused on product security architecture.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud security, IoT security, and securing embedded systems.
  • Proficient in security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, 21434, UNECE R155).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Leadership capabilities and the ability to collaborate effectively with varied teams.
  • Proven success in implementing effective cybersecurity solutions in product development.
  • Critical and logical thinking skills to identify challenges and propose solutions that advance our goal of a secure, autonomous freight transport system.

  • Attention to detail to identify issues and processes that do not comply with established protocols.
