Are you driven by innovation and the challenge of redefining possibilities? In the Display Technologies division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functionality of our products' displays through the effective design, production, and integration of components in Apple devices.

From the initial idea to large-scale manufacturing, you will create cutting-edge displays for the entire range of Apple products, including Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

These displays are the primary interface through which millions of Apple users engage with our products daily. Collaborating with diverse teams across Apple, you will contribute to making every interaction a remarkable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze opportunities for enhancing display, camera, and sensor performance through optical components.
  • Define and identify equipment for high-volume manufacturing processes, including deposition, patterning, and etching, for complex nano-fabricated optical components.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product Design, Engineering/Operations, and international suppliers to deliver optical components and modules.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting to enhance component performance.
  • Establish Engineering Requirement Specifications (ERS) for optical components, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), and In-Process Quality Control (IPQC).
  • Prepare detailed presentations and reports for a wide range of stakeholders, including management, peers, and suppliers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant industry experience in Engineering Physics, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.

Experience with nano-optics manufacturing processes, including deposition, lithography, nano-imprint, and etching.

Familiarity with thin film or nanostructure optical design and modeling, as well as characterization techniques such as XPS, SEM, TEM, AFM, XRD, SIMS, FT-IR, and optical device characterization methods like interferometry and spectrometry.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven hands-on experience in optics, optical coating, or advanced semiconductor process technology development.

Experience with diffraction optics, metasurface optics, or nanophotonics.

Proficiency in simulation software for optical, FEA, or Multiphysics applications, such as COMSOL.

Compensation and Benefits:

At Apple, base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specified range.

This allows for growth as you develop in your role.

The base salary range for this position is between $175,800 and $312,200, with actual salary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.

Additionally, employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
