Job Summary

The Avionics Lead is a key member of our team at Aspire MRO, responsible for overseeing the coordination and management of activities involving electrical harness fabrication, installation, and testing. This experienced-level position supervises multiple staff and reports to the Supervisor of Avionics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all team members have the necessary work instructions, tools, and references to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Verify proper documentation for work performed by assigned employees, reflecting the status of the job.
  • Directly oversee the work performed by individuals unfamiliar with methods, techniques, and practices.
  • Verify qualifications of assigned employees to ensure only properly trained and qualified employees are assigned to each task.
  • Assure accurate accomplishment of work by assigned employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct daily meetings to inform team members of any day-to-day issues.
  • Provide an accurate and complete turnover to the next shift lead and supervision for proper visit tracking.
  • Work side by side with mechanics requiring training or mentoring.
  • Provide development of assigned technicians by providing on-the-job training or mentoring as necessary.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to accomplish specific tasks.
  • Understanding and adherence to AMM, SWPM, and IPC standards.
  • Visual Acuity of 20/40 corrected and ability to distinguish color.
  • Ability to access all areas of the aircraft.
  • Must provide own tools as indicated on company tool list.
  • Language proficiency (read, write, speak, and understand English).
  • Thirty-six (36) months or more of experience troubleshooting and affecting Avionics repairs on Military, Commercial transport aircraft.
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20/40 corrected.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant or FAA Airframe certificate.
  • FCC License.
Work Environment

This job operates in indoor and outdoor settings, including office and warehouse environments. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures and varying environmental conditions.

The employee is required to climb ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. Bending downward and forward at the waist. Requires full use of lower extremities and back muscles. Resting on knee or knees. Bending downward and forward at the leg and spine. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing extended time periods. Walking for long distances. Using upper body to press against something with steady force. Using upper body to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects. Use of upper body and back muscles to lift objects.

Medium work; exerting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to 25 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Travel may occasionally be required for this position (10% or less).

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to legally work in the US without sponsorship. Must be able to pass a post-offer DOT drug test upon hire.
