Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) ATLANTIC. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing assigned engineering projects from inception to completion, providing technical expertise in Electrical Engineering, and serving as the Navy Technical Representative (NTR) under the COTR (Contracting Officer's Technical Representative).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and scope.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction on matters associated with engineering project scope, requirements, and funding.
  • Develop and implement design and technical solutions in Electrical Engineering.
  • Serve as the Navy Technical Representative (NTR) under the COTR (Contracting Officer's Technical Representative).
  • Review plans and designs prepared by Professional Engineers in Architectural and Engineering firms, NAVFAC, and Naval activities to determine their conformance with Navy and DoD criteria and contract scope.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience as a professional civil engineer at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate the following:

  • Reviewing submittals (i.e. drawings, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates) prepared by Architectural and Engineering firms to ensure compliance with applicable laws, criteria, codes, and standards.
  • Using electrical engineering software (i.e. Whole Building Design Guide, AutoCAD, electrical design/analysis software) to develop design drawings and specifications.
  • Analyzing engineering work to provide solutions to complex engineering and construction problems.
  • Managing personnel or contractors to complete complex engineering and construction projects.
  • Preparing and presenting results of studies/analysis and proposed designs to customers and upper management.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, or current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE); evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination; or successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A.

Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.
