Senior Captain

The Senior Captain is a key member of our Legends Hospitality team, responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences. As a brand ambassador, they foster a warm and welcoming environment, leading by example and ensuring impeccable service standards.
Responsibilities- Manage pace and sequence across all steps of service, ensuring efficient communication with FOH/BOH staff.
- Exhibit an excellent service attitude, willing to go the extra mile to accommodate guests.
- Inspect dining room areas, ensuring proper maintenance and safety, and take immediate action to correct any issues.
- Develop relationships with guests, checking in regularly to ensure satisfaction.
- Accurately prepare guest checks and accept payment.
- Ensure side work is completed and dining room supplies are well stocked, reporting any shortages to FOH management.
- Review daily specials, stations, and announcements.
- Train new hires on restaurant service standards, menu items, and food/beverage pairings.
- Be flexible and adjust to meet changing restaurant needs.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and communicate effectively.
- Act as a Legends brand ambassador when communicating with guests.
- Uphold a good self-image and command respect from employees.
- Lead with consideration and patience to achieve desired results through high-quality service.
- A minimum of three to five years' experience in a similar role.
- Minimum years' experience as a captain in a fine dining establishment in NYC preferred.
- Experience using restaurant point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to make responsible, impromptu decisions in accordance with steps of service and company standards.
- Strong food and beverage knowledge, ability to properly articulate menu selections.
- Possess strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Be result-driven, work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Superb customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual.
