Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient suites and communicate with nursing staff, surgeons, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Manage patient flow, including pre-op and post-op procedures, to minimize delays and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing the overall patient experience.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient charts and surgical schedules.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure timely and accurate information exchange between teams.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient and family inquiries, and addressing concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Health Unit Coordinator program preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a related field, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and basic computer skills.
