Job SummaryUnder the general direction of the Radiology Manager, this CT Technologist On Call Specialist will perform a variety of specialized tasks involved in the performance of CT scans. The ideal candidate will ensure operation of radiology and computerized tomography equipment, maintain radiology and CT supply inventory, and maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in company-sponsored training programs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform CT imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions
- Ensure operation of radiology and computerized tomography equipment
- Maintain radiology and CT supply inventory
- Maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in company-sponsored training programs
- Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures
- Maintain safe and clean working environment
- Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; provide explanations of treatment; answer questions
- Prepare patient for radiological/CT procedures
- Minimize radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors
- Maintain production and quality of radiographic and/or CT images
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records
- Cooperate with facility healthcare personnel and comply with facility policies and procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program
- Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible and possess a permit to practice where applicable
- Current BLS certification required
