Overview
ChristianaCare, a leading healthcare provider in the region, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the 6A Acute Care for Elderly (ACE) unit. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with older adults, providing personalized care and support in a dynamic environment.

Job Summary
As a Geriatric Nurse Specialist on our 6A ACE team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working closely with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes. Your passion for working with older adults will shine through in your interactions with patients, families, and colleagues alike.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care to older patients facing acute illnesses, maintaining their function, educating them on self-care, and ensuring their safety.
  • Manage 5 medical patients per shift, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to address complex needs.
  • Engage in relationship-based care, building strong bonds with patients, families, and peers, guided by ChristianaCare's values of love and excellence.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A Delaware RN License or Compact Nursing License.
  • A BSN degree, with ADN candidates required to obtain a BSN within 3 years of hire date.
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • A passion for working with older adults, with Gerontology Certification preferred.
  • BLS certification.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on factors like location and industry standards.
