Job Title: Truck Shop Mechanic Specialist

Pilgrim's is seeking a skilled Truck Shop Mechanic Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for maintaining diesel and gasoline powered equipment and trucks, all makes and models.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle condition and identify worn and damaged parts.
  • Complete preventive maintenance schedules, install component and part upgrades, and control corrosion to keep equipment available for use.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems.
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Contain costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options, and keeping supplies ready.
Requirements:
  • Must have own tools.
  • CDL Class A preferred.
  • Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, 3 plus years' experience.
  • Willing to fill needs of the department as necessary.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
