Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the State Veterans' Nursing Home of Florida. As a Senior Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide direct nursing care to residents, working under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with activities of daily living, ambulation, and mobility in the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming, hair, and nail care, shaving, toileting, eating and drinking, and mobility
  • Assist with related functions to, for, and with residents, including escorting to meals, assisting with laundry, and participating in activities
  • Perform restorative measures such as obtaining and recording vital signs/weights, and assistance with self-administration of medications
  • Document services provided within facility software/databases
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family or resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, ARNP's, consultants, and ancillary service providers
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • Transport and/or escort residents to appointments as assigned
  • Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health-related tasks
  • Attend all in-service programs, training classes, and domiciliary meetings
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for information contained in the Employee Handbook
  • Observe all facility safety, infection control, and quality improvement, HIPPA policies and procedures, and internal quality improvement processes
Requirements
  • Must have current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant License
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English: reading, writing, speaking, and understanding
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in long-term care or 120 bed skilled nursing facility
  • High school diploma or GED
