We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our Expressive Therapy Department at Adventist HealthCare. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic activities and programs to patients, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and conduct therapeutic activities, such as dance, music, arts, crafts, social activities, trips, and group discussions, tailored to patients' needs, capabilities, and interests.
- Participate in the development of treatment plans for patients, based on their medical records and individual needs.
- Document therapy assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in patients' charts.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, demonstrating knowledge of safety issues and proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Assist in ordering and maintaining Expressive Therapy supplies and equipment.
- Monitor patients' behavior and health condition, reporting changes to the RN.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as recreation therapy, music therapy, or art therapy; Master's degree preferred.
- Recreation Therapy certification (CTRS) and a Bachelor's degree in recreation therapy required; Master's degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred.
- Board Certification/registration preferred.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Our ideal candidate will work a Sunday-Tuesday schedule, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
