Position Overview

The Crisis Intervention Specialist / Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP: LCSW, LPC, LMFT) will engage with requests from Horizon and the community for urgent intervention services. This includes short-term crisis stabilization, mobile crisis response, resource information and referral, as well as pre-admission assessments for inpatient psychiatric and substance use treatment. This role will also foster collaborative relationships with local schools, social services, law enforcement, and other community stakeholders by providing consultation, support, and educational resources.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's Degree from an accredited program that prepares individuals for counseling practice (60-hr Master's Program).
  • No prior experience is necessary.
  • Eligibility for residency in Professional Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy, or Substance Abuse Treatment. Note: New hires are expected to apply for clinical supervision and residency shortly after joining.
Relevant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of the principles, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders.
    Familiarity with customer service principles and processes.
  • Capability to complete all Emergency Services and Pre-Screener Training modules within the designated timeframe.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to travel to various Horizon locations; may involve client transportation and service provision at alternative sites. Regular attendance at training sessions and Horizon meetings may require travel to multiple sites. Flexibility to work modified schedules (including weekends and holidays) as needed.
