Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients with complex conditions, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans. Your expertise in acute care nursing will be essential in delivering compassionate and high-quality care in our ICU.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in our ICU, you will be responsible for:
  • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments to establish patient care needs
  • Administering prescribed medications and monitoring their effects
  • Performing advanced medical procedures as necessary
  • Monitoring patient progress and responding to changes in status
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans
  • Operating and monitoring life support equipment and medical devices
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documenting care provided
  • Educating patients and families on patient condition and treatment plan
  • Ensuring adherence to ICU and hospital protocols and practices
  • Participating in rounds and communicating with the healthcare team
  • Providing emotional support to patients and families
  • Supervising and mentoring junior nursing staff and students
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with critical care nursing practices
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wyoming
  • BSN or MSN degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification may be required for certain positions
  • Critical care certification (CCRN) is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong clinical skills with a focus on patient safety and quality of care
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to perform duties, including lifting patients and standing for long periods
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development
