Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Technician to join our team at NSWC Crane Radar Technology Division (WXP). As an Electronic Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining electronic equipment, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with engineers to develop solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and integrate hardware based on drawings, system wiring diagrams, and interface circuit boards.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test CCA's and assemblies.
  • Handle PCBs and adhere to Electronic Discharge processes and procedures.
  • Support NAVSUP legacy workload in troubleshooting and repairing the SPS-40 and OE-120 workload.
  • Perform soldering to revise printed circuit boards.
  • Use special tools and calibration devices to test and repair equipment.
  • Collaborate with WXP engineering and analysis efforts by providing technical hands-on capabilities as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree with 0 years of experience or High School Diploma with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), High voltage training, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and associated training is required.
  • Solder certification to IPC requirements such as IPC J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721.
  • Experience in reading, understanding, and creating technical drawings (schematics) of electrical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting NSWC Crane projects.
  • Associate's Degree or higher in Electronics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Basic to intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Clearance Requirements
  • Must have a current/active Interim Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Required to get a CAC badge as well as Base Security Access approval.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 Lbs.
  • Work extensive time in stationary positions.
  • Climb and descend ladders.
