Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain supply requisitions, inventory, and records in a computer system.
- Inspect, service, and maintain departmental vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs of facility vehicles and maintain related records.
- Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, including 911 requests and citizen complaints.
- Assign and dispatch field units in response to requests for services, providing critical information to responding units.
- Monitor emergency communications from other police and fire agencies to determine needs for assistance.
- Act as a liaison between station personnel, other law enforcement agencies, and emergency service organizations.
- Assume full radio dispatching responsibility in emergency situations.
- Issue and track official reports, reviewing contents for completeness and accuracy.
- Assign and oversee work performed by inmate laborers under sworn personnel supervision.
- Receive, store, and release personal and evidentiary property at a patrol station.
- Transport and unload large, bulky, and heavy personal and evidentiary property.
- Assist with crime prevention functions, including liaison work with other public agencies and private prevention organizations.
- Assist in investigating alleged violations of laws and regulations by gathering and examining relevant records and data.
- Two years of experience working for a public safety agency performing law enforcement-related services and support duties.
- Completion of 30 semester or 45 quarter units from an accredited college or university.
- A valid California class C driver license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and has locations throughout the greater Los Angeles County. As a Law Enforcement Technician, you will be required to work any shift, including overtime and consecutive shifts, and be willing to work any day of the year.
