We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our team at HILGARTWILSON, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design. As a Survey Crew Chief, you will be responsible for leading a team of surveyors in the field, ensuring accurate and efficient completion of projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of surveyors in the field, ensuring accurate and efficient completion of projects.
  • Represent HILGARTWILSON in a professional manner to clients, contractors, and the general public.
  • Perform field survey tasks for construction staking, as-built surveys, control, boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys.
  • Perform quality control checks and accurately record information to complete tasks.
  • Ability to effectively complete day-to-day field survey operations and report back to the Survey Manager on daily activities.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
  • Proficiency in working with survey data collectors and software, GPS and Robotic survey instruments.
  • Ability to complete survey calculations in the field and a thorough knowledge of construction staking procedures and plan interpretation.
  • Proven ability to perform duties productively with minimal supervision.
  • Works well with internal and external clients and contractors, understands the requirements of the project, client, and this firm, and is able to follow through with these requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Working Conditions/Environment:

Requires working outside in all types of weather conditions, possibly for extended periods of time. The terrain may be rough, steep, wet or swampy. Vegetation may be dense, and insects, snakes or animals may be encountered.
