Restaurant Manager Job Description

This role is for a Restaurant Manager position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not Del Taco LLC. The independent franchisee is responsible for all employment-related matters in the restaurant, including hiring, firing, discipline, wages, supervision, staffing, and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protect and deliver the Del Taco brand by leading the Del Taco Way.
  • Grow sales while maximizing efficiency and profitability of the restaurant.
  • Lead the team to achieve sales, customer count, and loyalty goals.
  • Ensure the team is certified according to the current training process at all times.
  • Create a service-oriented culture and promote an environment of fun and teamwork.
  • Evaluate performance and recommend salary increases.
  • Recommend, approve, and administer disciplinary action, suspension, and/or termination.
  • Develop and grow team members and future managers.
Delivering the Brand
  • Execute Del Taco standards and use our processes and systems 100% of the time.
  • Maintain the facility and customer areas.
  • Maintain all equipment to operational and safety standards.
  • Deliver only quality products to Del Taco standards every time.
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules and standards.
  • Ensure employees are in proper uniform.
  • Ensure a consistent service experience.
  • Ensure POP and signage is present and in the approved location.
Achieving Sales and Profitability
  • Identify and communicate sales goals (daily, weekly, year over year).
  • Ensure the right people are in the right places according to projected/actual sales.
  • Increase customer count and check average, and maximize capacity and customer value.
  • Identify and execute Local Store Marketing opportunities to attract new customers.
  • Stay aware of local events; understand the store's current trade area and competition.
  • Execute speed (speed with a smile) and service standards.
  • Flawlessly execute marketing promotions and campaigns.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the QSR industry/full-service concept.
  • ServSafe Certified.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; great telephone manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented; accurate.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and math skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, under pressure.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, and promote learning, development, and career growth.
Physical Requirements/Environment/Working Conditions
  • Office and restaurant environment. Extended periods of standing, sitting, typing, and looking at a computer screen. May also require some reaching, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability to drive/travel to restaurant locations within assigned areas, including some overnight travel.
  • Valid Driver's License and Proof of Vehicle Insurance is required.
