Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Quality: Take the lead role in Quality on internal and customer complaint resolution. Timely customer return evaluation and root cause analysis to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Operations Development: Take lead role in supporting equipment qualification activities and scaleup activities of industrial processes.
  • Internal Quality: Early involvement in new product development and new customer order activities, ensuring that product and customer quality requirements are driven down into the operation through implementing control plans and other mechanisms.
  • Proactive Solutions: Proactively recommend and implement data driven solutions to improve manufacturing processes focusing on reduction in scrap rates and/or over production efficiencies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring products and processes adhere to company and industry quality standards.
  • Rapid Growth: Rapid growth in designated area while maintaining current production requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Driving results – requiring working together with a cross-functional team with conflicting priorities.
  • Product Understanding: Understanding the design intent, failure modes, requirements and specifications of the product and tying those to the manufacturing processes, process controls and quality inspections.
  • Customer Documentation: Inadequate or incomplete definition on blueprints/documentation from customers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial Eng; M.S. in Quality Assurance a plus.
  • Experience: 7-10 years' experience in quality engineering, preferably in industrial product and/or aerospace manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Tools and Project Planning: Hands-on experience using lean tools and project planning.
  • SPC and Sampling Plans: Experience with SPC, Sampling Plans, Creating Control Plans, PFMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Capabilities Studies, Leading Corrective Action and Preventative Action.
  • Scaling Operations: Experience scaling operations and implementation of new technology to support manufacturing.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt: Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
  • ISO9001/ISO9100: Strong knowledge of ISO9001/ISO9100 and inspection equipment.
  • Project Management: Strong Project Management Skills.
