Position Overview

Role: Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Pediatric ICU

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will deliver exceptional nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures. Your primary focus will be on ensuring patient comfort and safety while working collaboratively with various departments to enhance patient flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and their families, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs in a systematic manner.
  • Continuously update and adjust the care plan based on evolving patient information and conditions, effectively communicating changes to the healthcare team and documenting them in the medical records.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care conferences, ensuring accurate documentation in the medical records.
  • Support patients and their families in actively participating in their care plans as appropriate.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills while interacting with patients, families, visitors, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications and treatments promptly, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development by acquiring new knowledge and skills to enhance individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Contribute to unit performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing or an associate's degree, technical diploma, or current enrollment in a nursing bridge program is required.
  • Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact, along with BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of professional nursing experience is required.
  • Ability to operate unit-specific equipment.
  • Willingness to work night shifts.
  • Knowledge of the nursing process, critical thinking skills, PALS, ACLS, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
