Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Purchasing Agent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the procurement of pharmaceutical and departmental supplies for University Hospitals. Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for purchasing all pharmaceutical products, providing acquisition services to non-pharmacy departments, and achieving significant operational savings through the identification and implementation of procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase pharmaceutical products in compliance with contracts and ensure timely delivery to meet the needs of University Hospitals.
  • Provide pharmaceutical acquisition services to non-pharmacy departments, including procurement of specialized products and equipment.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures through procurement strategies, resulting in significant operational savings.
  • Interface with Accounts Payable and Receiving to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate payment processing.
  • Participate in inventory management to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in procurement and inventory management.
  • Perform Pharmacy Technician II duties as needed to support the pharmacy team.

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team and other departments to achieve shared goals and objectives.
