The Clinical Nursing Manager is accountable for guaranteeing exceptional patient care, streamlined operations, and effective personnel management within designated departments. Responsibilities include fostering a supportive work atmosphere, overseeing nursing staff, and making informed decisions to maintain professional standards and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Staff Management: Engage in daily interactions with Charge Nurses and Patients; enhance communication and relationships within nursing teams; facilitate Unit Council meetings; take part in recruitment and retention efforts, and guide nursing students.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and institutional standards; participate in quality improvement initiatives; develop systems that support shared governance; track quality metrics; and promptly address incidents.
  • Service Coordination: Oversee departmental services at multiple levels; strategize service delivery with qualified personnel; spearhead initiatives; and relay service performance metrics for necessary operational adjustments.
  • Financial Stewardship: Optimize budget utilization; monitor resource allocation; authorize staffing adjustments based on necessity; regularly update scheduling systems; and manage payroll processes efficiently.
  • Professional Development: Mentor nursing staff; assess the progress of new hires; ensure participation in educational programs; uphold Shared Governance principles; and execute assigned responsibilities.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years in a formal management role
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and evaluation capabilities
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Dedicated to excellence in patient care and ongoing quality enhancement
  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing is highly desirable
  • Specialty Certification
Licenses/Certifications Required:
  • Registered Nurse - RN (California Board of Registered Nursing) - Valid California License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association
  • Fire Life Safety Training within days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association
