Role Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to operate the drying equipment with a focus on quality and efficiency, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Efficiently operate the drying machinery while maintaining high-quality standards.
  2. Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  3. Supervise packaging personnel to ensure optimal job performance.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the drying area, packaging zones, and storage facilities.
  5. Ensure accurate entries in the SAP system.
  6. Record gauge readings, moisture levels, and necessary adjustments accurately.
  7. Verify correct Julian dates on all packaging.
  8. Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed.
  9. Be available for weekend and overtime shifts.
  10. Complete man-hour sheets accurately for both production and downtime.
  11. Follow safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality. Report any safety or quality concerns to management.
  12. Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  13. Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Licenses and Certifications:

Required: Forklift license.

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to comprehend and follow operating procedures.
  2. Proficient in basic mathematical calculations.
  3. Capability to lift and carry weights up to 60 lbs repeatedly.
  4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  5. Comfortable working in environments that may be noisy, dusty, or warm.
  6. Basic computer skills are advantageous.
  7. Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  8. Willingness to undergo necessary safety training.
  9. Knowledge of handling chemicals safely.
  10. Understanding of Julian date systems.
  11. Ability to make independent decisions.
