Key Responsibilities

As a Surgical Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with our specialists and utilize advanced diagnostic tools to ensure optimal patient care. Your daily tasks may include:

  • Assisting in the administration of general anesthesia and monitoring sedated procedures
  • Setting up continuous rate infusions (CRIs) and performing medical calculations
  • Placing intravenous catheters and managing fluid therapy
  • Positioning patients for radiographic imaging while adhering to radiation safety protocols
  • Delivering compassionate care to hospitalized animals
  • Preparing and administering blood and plasma transfusions
  • Maintaining accurate treatment records and anesthesia logs
  • Understanding and utilizing capnography, pulse oximetry, ECG, and blood pressure monitoring
  • Collecting and preparing blood samples for laboratory analysis
  • Educating clients on at-home care for their pets

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred, or a minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • A thorough understanding of anesthetic monitoring techniques
  • Experience in processing basic laboratory specimens
  • A solid foundation in anatomy and physiology
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal physiological parameters
  • A commitment to mentoring and training veterinary assistants
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
