Family and Consumer Sciences Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Public Service Professional in Family and Consumer Sciences. This role will be responsible for coordinating the Family and Consumer Sciences program in the geographic area, providing education and outreach on nutrition, food safety, parenting, and related subject matter areas.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs to meet community needs, including chronic disease self-management and targeted nutrition and health programs for seniors and families with children.
- Provide state-required training in food safety for food service providers and nutrition and child development training opportunities for child care providers.
- Work with clients to stretch limited food dollars and plan for the future, addressing financial capacity and financial literacy.
- Collaborate with other agencies and community groups to implement programs and conduct promotional efforts to expand the public's knowledge of Extension programming.
- Develop and present educational information targeted for different audiences, including 4-H youth development competitions and events associated with FACS issue areas.
- A Master's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, Food & Nutrition, Food Science/Safety, Child Care, Health, Human Development, Financial Management, Housing, or related area.
- A Bachelor's degree is acceptable for a Public Service Provisional appointment.
- Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to speak to/teach large groups of residents.
- Ability to organize and carry out activities and programming for youth.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county, district, and state staff, local government employees, and clientele.
