Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and supervise department personnel to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Select, onboard, and coach new team members to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Schedule team members to ensure adequate coverage and meet business needs.
  • Engage with customers through effective communication, product information, and sales suggestions.
  • Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to their satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to county, city, and company food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Order products and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels and meet merchandising standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and serving of deli and food service items, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrees.
  • Display products in accordance with deli and food service department and company merchandising guidelines.
  • Follow product recipes and maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Rotate products for sale, ensuring quality and safety, and controlling product shrink.
  • Receive merchandise, audit invoices, and position cases in storage areas or refrigerated walk-in coolers.
  • Count product for inventory purposes and complete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process cash register transactions, handle customer refunds, and use scale printer machines.
  • Monitor product pricing, signage, and placement, and use product shelf tags and shelf signage.
  • Ensure a clean, neat, and orderly sales counter, food prep area, and warehouse shelving.
  • Use proper safety equipment and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Two years of prior experience in a fresh foods environment, preferably in a management role.
  • Flexibility to work weekend, holiday, and evening shifts, and assist other locations as needed.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred.
  • A love of foods and a creative nature.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, with little direction, to accomplish assigned duties.
  • Basic business math calculations and ability to learn register, scales, scanners, and debit/credit terminals.
  • Ability to read UPC codes, product labels, shelf signage, register forms, and posted company policies/procedures.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with deli ingredients and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 25lbs on occasion.
  • Reach above shoulder height and bend below waist.
  • Work in walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • Stand for long periods, bend, twist, and frequently lift and/or maneuver merchandise and supplies.
  • Be dexterous enough to use necessary equipment, including knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers, and rotisseries.
