Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Slater's 50/50. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality menu items to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute all planche and grill items according to recipe and quality expectations, ensuring proper temperatures and cheese melting.
  • Communicate effectively with the culinary team to coordinate food service and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Zone the grill to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform prep work as needed and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
  • Assist with maintaining the recipe book and ensuring that all kitchen staff are aware of menu items and preparation methods.
  • Develop and maintain adequate knife skills and follow proper food safety and sanitation policies.
  • Participate in line sweeps and trash changes as needed and maintain the cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
  • Stock supplies and equipment as required and follow all safety standards.
Requirements
  • Adequate skills and experience to perform job duties.
  • Food handlers card.
  • Able to stand for 8 hours and walk/stand during the entire shift.
  • Able to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Able to read and understand recipes.
  • Able to understand and follow all policies and procedures.
  • Able to lift and carry racks or stacks of dishes, glassware, and other utensils weighing up to 50 lbs., up to 50 times per shift.
  • Able to lift and empty trashcans weighing up to 150 lbs., with assistance, up to five times per shift.
  • Able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, and lift.
  • Able to work in a hot, damp environment.
